In the library you must be aware of the following according to the Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations
- Make sure you test equipment before use.
- Do not balance any equipment on piles of books or materials.
- You must know the location of fire extinguishers.
- You should know the location of fire escapes and emergency exits.
- Make sure to use equipment correctly. Make sure to follow operational and safety instructions in the manual.
- And also, test equipment before use
- In the library, According to the Manual Handling of Equipment you must NOT balance equipment on piles of books. They can all topple and fall and cause occupational health and safety accidents. Here, in this picture, they have used a trolley for heavy equipment, which is correct but the books are a hazard and can drop on staff’s feet or members of the library. Please be aware of situations like this and report to the staff immediately
